Central Youth Football League
Parent/Guardian/Relative/Guest Misconduct Policy
So ALL parties are comprehensive of what is expected moving forward:
COACHES: Volunteer their time to work with the kids. They are NOT experts.
REFEREES: Are human and make mistakes.
PLAYERS: Are in the league to learn the game, have fun, and gain life lessons.
PARENTS(ETC.) Please come to the events to CHEER on the TEAM. Cheer for accomplishments. Do NOT berate the refs, coaches, nor the players, Heck, even appreciate when the other teams does something great. Good Sportsmanship anyone?
The ONLY people allowed to interact with the players are those that have gained the appropriate clearances and have been designated as a coach, trainer, or referee by the league. NO others are allowed on the fields. This is for games and PRACTICE. Please stay in designated areas.
In the past few years we have had people interrupt practices, been giving warnings for misconduct at games and unfortunately to the extent, have been asked to leave the field. Due to the rise in these occurrences we have had to develop this corrective action plan detailed below:
****If someone interrupts a practice, (walks onto the field, yells at the coaches, yells at any of the players, etc.) they will be asked to leave. This will be followed by a certified letter stating this is a final warning of their privilege to be part of our association.
****If they violate the policy a second time the child associated with them will be suspended for one game and this will be addressed in a second certified letter.
****A third violation will result in the involved party being given a life time ban as well as the player.
****Being warned for inappropriate behavior at a game will follow the same schedule as above.
****Violation count is cumulative. It DOES NOT start over with the beginning of a new season nor a second child entering the league.
****Being ejected from game field for inappropriate behavior will result in immediate life time ban of the party in question followed by a review regarding the associated players future allowance in the league.
****If a party cannot accept the outcomes created by their own doing and opt to disregard the bans etc. local authorities will be contacted as in years past. Let us not forget that two people received lifetime bans from the BBYFCL due to their misconduct at our field.
IT IS SIMPLE: Let the coaches coach, the players play, the referees ref. If you are none of these three; cheer on the good that the team does, hope that the mistakes are corrected and keep your expert opinion to yourself. It is always easier to stand on the sideline and second guess everything someone else has done. Hindsight being 20/20and all; the last I checked - no one is perfect.
